Our Story to Date
The Observatory Village complex was opened in August 2017. The facility is community owned and governed by the Observatory Village Charitable Trust. The village has grown rapidly and now consists of an 81-bed care centre (with a mix of rest home and hospital level care residents), together with 44 villas and 32 serviced apartments for independent-living residents. This growth is set to continue through a staged development programme, including the building of a stand-alone community lodge. By the end of 2026, a community of 68 villas, 42 serviced apartments, together with the existing care centre, will be home for upwards of 200 residents and will provide employment for more than 100 staff. To offer you a sense of who we are and how we operate. Our Resident care and well-being is at the centre of everything we do. Ultimately, success is driven and measured by the quality of Resident care and services we offer. This philosophy is captured in our strategic framework pictured.
Also under construction is our impressive Willow Park Community Lodge. This Resident facility has been enabled through a generous donation from the Observatory Village project founders. The Lodge will offer a Resident community hub including areas for Functions, a Gym, Spa, Arts & Craft area, Treatment Rooms and comfortable Lounges, Dining and entertainment areas. It will be complemented by outdoor spaces including a multi-purpose 'green area' for bowls, putting and croquet, a petanque pitch and raised vegetable gardens connected by walking paths to the villas and apartments. We are pleased that a Resident Working Group, independently facilitated, is providing input into the design of these spaces and indeed into the way the Lodge will operate. Willow Park Lodge is scheduled for completion end 2024.
